The Alps

Image
World-famous, beautiful, charming and exciting, the Alps often sound more like movie stars than mountains. Austria, France,   Germany , Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland each offer an assortment of winter and summer sports, National Parks, and scenic tours on this legendary mountain range arcing 750 miles from Genoa to Vienna. - VisitEurope

La Fourchette (the Fork)

Image
"The Neuchâtel-based visual artist Jean-Pierre Zaugg (who died in June 2012) designed the work of art, known as  La Fourchette  (the Fork). It was commissioned to celebrate the Alimentarium’s 10 th  anniversary in 1995. A Vevey steelwork contractor, Georges Favre, made the statute in stainless steel. It depicts a monumental 8-metre high table fork, 1.3-metre wide at the tines at its base. The Museum was granted permission to embed it in Lake Geneva, 5 metres off Quay Perdonnet, from April to October the same year, for its  History of Objects  exhibition". - Alimentarium

Here are my photos from Epesses. With its narrow streets and balconies over Lake Geneva, Epesses is one of the most typical villages in the Lavaux UNESCO region.  https://www.region-du-leman.ch/en/P10186/epesses
